Genealogy - A genealogy of the Allen family from 1568 to 1882

Description

Book Synopsis: About the Book
In 1635, when the Puritans emigrated in large numbers from the old country, fleeing the persecution of Archbishop Laud under Charles I, George Allen and his family came to America and settled in Sons, Lynn. In 1637 George Allen joined Edmund Freeman and others in the purchase of the township of Sandwich and settled in the place that same year. Later, he was chosen Deputy, the first office in the town, and served in that capacity for several years. He was a conscientious Puritan and a member of the Baptist Church. He had ten sons, most of them settled near his father's residence. This book contains the genealogy of some of George Allen's descendants and was compiled by William Allen.
